Description

The Watts monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 25 metres southwest of the tower of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a hipped top and a moulded base. On the east and west sides, there are shields with quarter balusters, while the north and south sides have shaped raised panels set in a moulded surround. The monument commemorates Mary Watts, who died in 1837, along with other members of the family.
