Description
The Old Post Office is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of limestone rubble with stone dressings and quoins, topped by a slate roof featuring raised coped verges and gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are sash windows set in flat surrounds. The central entrance is a 20th-century door with a flat stone hood supported by scrolled brackets.
On the left side, there is a 20th-century g-pane sash window at both the ground and first floors. The two-storey rear wing has two 20th-century windows at the ground floor and two similar 9-pane sashes located under the eaves. The right side features a French window and a 9-pane sash window at the first floor. At the rear, there is a single-storey extension with a pitched roof, which includes a 6-pane sash window at both the ground and first floors, and the rear of the wing has 20th-century 12-pane sashes at both levels. The interior has not been inspected.
