Description
The Watts Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 11 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St John the Evangelist in Slimbridge. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a cavetto top and base, with end panels that display palm fronds, an open book, and a skull and crossbones. The inscription panels have quadrant corners and commemorate George Watts, who died in 1783. The memorial is raised about 900 millimeters above the approach path and is situated next to a boundary wall.
