Description

Churchend Farmhouse is a mid-18th century brick farmhouse, with a return face on the left rendered, and a stone slate roof to the gables. One gable has a hipped end, and the main front features a parapet built of newer brickwork. It is constructed in an L-shape, with a later addition in the re-entrant angle. The principal facade is two storeys high and has three windows, each with a three-light casement window featuring flat-arched heads over the lights, set beneath segmental arches. A central six-panel door is situated within a stone Roman Doric doorcase, which has an open pediment and fanlight above. The return wing on the left is three storeys high, with small two-light casement windows above the three-light casements that match the front facade. A large canted bay window is present on the right return, featuring good sash windows with glazing bars.
