Description

The Daniel Phillimore memorial is an upright chest tomb located approximately 3 metres south-east of the south porch at the Church of St John the Evangelist. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a roll and cavetto top, a chamfered base, and simple inscription panels. It commemorates Daniel Phillimore, who died in 1837. The Phillimore family was one of the main clothier dynasties in the area.
