Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 3 meters east-north-east of the Sidney Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary the Virgin. It dates from 1818 and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth, and capping, with slightly indented corners. The ends have a plain frieze, which includes a single rosette and a plain shield on the east side, and a large urn on the west side. The sides are adorned with fielded rectangular panels that have shallow-fluted quadrant corners.
