Description

The Tayler Monument is a chest tomb located about 6.5 meters northeast of the Pick Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. The earliest decipherable inscription on the tomb dates back to 1770 and is found on the east end. It is made of limestone and features a flat top with a moulded plinth and capping on the base. The corners are indented, while the ends have a plain frieze and sunk oval panels. The sides are adorned with large flush rectangular panels that have fluted quadrant corners.
