Description

The Phillips Monument is a chest tomb located about 4 meters north of the Oldland Monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates Elizabeth Phillips, who died in 1771. The monument is made of limestone and features a flat top with additional moulding along the top edge and a capping moulding. The plinth is not visible. The sides of the tomb include gadrooned quarter balusters, a plain sunk end on the west side, and a cartouche on the east side. The south side has a plain flush rectangular panel, while the north side displays a large moulded panel with eared corners.
