Description
The Clark Monument is a pedestal tomb located about 8 meters south of the south porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates Elizabeth Clark, who died in 1807. The tomb is made of forest limestone and features a curved pyramidal cap topped with a plain finial. Its corners are slightly indented and adorned with reeded quarter columns. The base has a tall moulded plinth, while the east and west sides are plain with tooled edges. The north and south sides display slightly raised ovals decorated with palm leaves. At the time of the survey in November 1985, the top of the monument was noted to be slightly crooked.
