Description

The barn at Wanswell Court Farm dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone and features a double Roman tile roof with some glass insertions. The barn is buttressed on either side of the east end and on either side of the south entrance by raking rubble stone buttresses. It consists of four bays and has collar and tie beam trusses. The south entrance has double timber doors with a single flanking slit vent, and there is a pitching hole in the east end.
