Description
The barn flanking the west side of the farmyard at Park Hill Farm dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed, dressed red sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof. The barn is two storeys high and consists of five bays. It has a wallstone plinth and a central waggon entrance with boarded doors and a flat arch, which is flanked by bricked-up triple slit vents. To the right, there is a boarded door with a bonded surround and a deep lintel, while the left part of the barn is obscured by an attached outbuilding that is not of special interest.
Above the entrance, there is a first-floor band beneath five circular pitching holes with dressed surrounds. The barn also has an eaves band and a hipped roof. At the rear, there is a segmentally-arched waggon entrance within a later outbuilding that is not of special interest. The left return features a first-floor pitching hole similar to the front. The barn remains unaltered and is part of a U-shaped planned farm group.
