Description
The cowhouse flanking the east side of the farmyard at Park Hill Farm is a building from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed, dressed red sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof. The structure is two storeys high and comprises five bays. There is a wallstone plinth, a door with a wedge lintel located in bay 2, and altered doorways in bays 1 and 4. Windows are present in bays 3 and 5. A first-floor band runs beneath five circular pitching holes that have dressed surrounds. The building has an eaves band and a hipped roof. At the rear, there are five pitching holes similar to those at the front. The left return of the building has blocked triple slit vents on the ground floor, with a matching pitching hole above. This cowhouse faces a contemporary barn and is an important part of the U-shaped planned farm group, which contributes to its group value.
