Description

This barn, located south of High Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century. It features coursed red sandstone rubble walls topped with a graduated sandstone slate roof. The barn is single storey and consists of three bays. There is a central segmental-arched cart entrance, a casement window on the left, and a 20th-century opening on the far left, which is supported by a steel girder. To the right, external stone steps lead to a loft doorway, with another doorway located beneath the steps. A lean-to extension on the left also has a sandstone slate roof. At the rear, there is a red-sandstone extension that includes 20th-century plank doors. The barn is listed for its group value with High Farmhouse.
