Description
High Farmhouse and former stables are a mid-18th century building. It features dressed red sandstone walls with flush quoins and an eaves cornice. The roof is made of graduated greenslate, with coped gables and kneelers, and there are banded red sandstone ashlar chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and has four bays, with a single-bay stable on the left under a common roof. There is a 20th-century door on the left, set in a painted stone surround, with a lintel that has a recessed panel but no inscription. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in chamfered painted stone surrounds. The stables include a casement window beneath a blocked loft doorway, and there is a rear outshut that is contemporary with the main building.
