Description

Manor Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that dates from the early 17th century, with rebuilding in the early to mid-18th century and a refronting around 1810. There have been alterations and additions in the 19th century. The structure is built of ashlar and coursed rubble limestone, with concrete block rebuilt chimneys and a Welsh slate roof. It is three storeys high, with a single-storey wing at the rear.

The front of the house features a three-window arrangement, with 12-pane sash windows on the ground and middle floors, and 6-pane sash windows on the upper floor. The left side has a later 19th-century two-storey canted bay window with 4-pane sashes and a moulded cornice. The central doorway is plain and has a 20th-century glazed door. There are plain floor level bands and a parapet, with gabled ends; the north end retains a small stair-light.

At the rear, there is a three-window arrangement with recessed cavetto mullioned leaded iron casements, both single and two-light, with ground floor windows grouped under a combined hoodmould. The projecting single-storey wing has 12-pane sashes in brick-lined openings with timber lintels.

Inside, one room retains a compartment ceiling with deep chamfered beams. There is a stone spiral staircase in the north gable end, next to a large chimney stack, and all large fireplaces are blocked.
