Description

Bedcroft is a detached house dating from the early to mid-17th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 18th century. The building is constructed from random and coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two stories high with an attic, and a rear wing that forms an L-shape.

The front of the house has two windows, all of which are recessed cavetto mullioned leaded casements with hoodmoulds, consisting of two lights, except for one three-light window on the right. There is a central glazed porch addition and an attic gabled dormer with a 20th-century casement.

On the west end, there are mixed mullioned casements, including a three-light window on the ground floor and two-light windows on each floor above. The east end features a gable-mounted chimney with a moulded cap and a lean-to addition below it. Additionally, there is a ridge-mounted chimney with a moulded cap on the rear wing, topped with a ball finial at the gable end. The interior has not been inspected, and the building was somewhat concealed by overgrowth at the time of the survey in July 1986.
