Description
Spring Cottage is a former pair of houses that has been converted into a detached house, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a roof made of stone and artificial stone slates, with plain tiles on the rear wing.
It is two stories high with an attic. The front facade has two doorways on the ground floor, each with deep stone lintels, which are grouped under a hoodmould. Between these doorways is a two-light casement window, flanked by three-light outer casements. The upper floor has five windows, all of which are chamfered mullioned two-light windows with leaded iron casements. There are three gabled roof dormers, two of which have 20th-century casements. The gable ends feature chimneys that have been partly rebuilt in brick. On the west side of the rear wing, there is a three-light casement window with a hoodmould. Additionally, there is a blocked upper floor doorway with a timber lintel at the east end. The interior has not been inspected.
