Description
Star Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with an addition from the mid to late 18th century. It is built of coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar and rendered chimneys, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The front has a scattered arrangement of windows, all of which are iron casements, some retaining their leading, and are topped with timber lintels. There is a 19th-century gabled porch at the off-centre doorway, which has a four-panel door. Access to the cellar is at the right end, featuring a plank door and timber lintel. A single gabled roof dormer is present, and two ridge-mounted chimneys indicate the ends of the original house to the west. On the west end, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned upper floor casement with a hoodmould. The north side has a single-storey lean-to addition and a two-light upper floor mullioned casement with a hoodmould. The interior has not been inspected. The farmhouse is part of a group that includes a barn to the southeast and The Mill House.
