Description

This is a small, detached house located on the west side of High Street, South Woodchester. It dates from the early to mid-18th century. The house is constructed of coursed and random rubble limestone with black pointing, and has an ashlar chimney with an artificial stone top. The roof is covered with stone slates. The original house is a single-storey building with an attic, and a small addition to the rear creates an L-shaped plan. The front elevation features a segmental arched doorway with a timber lintel and a plank door, and two casement windows to the left, united under a single timber lintel. A central hipped attic dormer incorporates a leaded casement window. Scattered casement windows can be found in the gable ends, each with a rendered lintel. A lateral chimney stack is located at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
