Description

Home Farm is a detached house built around 1840. It features coursed rubble limestone with ashlar dressings, artificial stone rebuilt chimneys, and a concrete tile roof. The building is two stories high with a cellar built into the bank and has a rear wing.

The front of the house has three windows with 12-pane sash fenestration and an off-centre doorway that includes a four-panel door with a stone lintel. To the right of the doorway, there is an inserted shop window with a timber lintel and a large small-paned casement. The ridge has rebuilt chimneys.

On the east side, there is an irregular angled end wall with three facets and a hipped roof, featuring single-window fenestration to each facet, mostly with 12-pane sashes, and plank doors leading to the cellar. There are adjoining retaining walls, with one projecting to the north and topped with hoop-topped iron railings.

The west side has a low-pitched gable end with off-centre mixed sash fenestration, while the wing to the right has a large louvred vent at a high level. The rear also has sash fenestration. The interior has not been inspected. This modest building has some 20th-century alterations and is situated at a crucial position at the south end of the main village street, where the roads fork on either side.
