Description
Mount Pleasant is a detached house dated 1707, constructed from coursed rubble limestone, mostly covered in roughcast render, with rebuilt concrete chimneys and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and features a parallel rear range.
The front of the house has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being three-light chamfered mullioned casements that have a linking hoodmould. This hoodmould likely extends over the dated lintel of the central doorway, although it is partially obscured by a 20th-century gabled porch addition. There are separate hoodmoulds above the upper floor casements. A 20th-century single-storey addition is located at the north end of the house.
On the south side, there are two gables, each with single-window two-light casement fenestration and gable-mounted chimneys. The rear features a gable on the left with two-light casements on the ground floor and in the attic, along with a single-light casement that was inserted in the upper floor during the 20th century. Inside, there is a large fireplace and timber-framed partitions.
