Description

Jessamine Cottage is a small house located on the north side of Wheatley Church Road. It dates to the early 18th century, with a later extension added in the late 18th or early 19th century. The house is constructed of limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and timber lintels, with some brick sections. It has an old plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. The original house consists of two units arranged in a parallel range. The front elevation has a six-panel door, set within a 19th-century glazed porch, to the left of centre, flanked by a three-light casement window. Above are two-light casement windows to the first floor. A later rear range is built in Flemish bond brickwork with flared headers and has casement windows set within segmental arches. The interior of the house was not inspected.
