Description
Ardwick House is a house from the early 18th century that was extended in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, topped with an old plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. The house has a two-unit plan that has been enlarged and stands two storeys tall.
The front of the house features an earlier section on the right with a former six-panel door, which is now partly built up, situated between casement windows with three and two lights. There is a two-light casement window on the first floor. The later section has irregular window arrangements, including a three-light casement and a tall sash window on the far left, all topped with stone flat arches. The current entrance is located in the left gable wall.
The rear of the house has five windows, featuring mostly renewed casement and sash windows. There is also a single-storey rubble rear range to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
