Description

Brookside is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with some squared quoins and features timber lintels. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys plus attics. The windows are arranged irregularly and include renewed three-light casements, with entrances located at the angle of the ranges and opposite each other. There are 20th-century dormers and a gable outshut. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, an elaborate beam with ogee and concave mouldings, and a staircase to the attics with winders. The roof has been largely rebuilt.
