Description

TIDENHAM GENERAL ST 59 NE 10/198 Monument to Mary Smith in the churchyard c11 metres south east of south porch of Church of St Mary and st Peter GV II Large upright chest tomb. Mid to late C18. Sandstone. Flat inscribed top to moulded edge, quarter balusters, slightly fielded panel to north, moulded base on plain platform. To Mary, wife of Peter Smith, 1776. The design of this tomb is of an earlier date than this; one of the panels covered with ivy at the time of survey, December 1983. On a raised part of the churchyard, immediately south west of the climbing approach path.
