Description
The pump and spring located outside the east corner of the churchyard to the Church of St Mary and St Peter is a 19th-century structure. It features a cistern at street level with a stone surround. The cast iron cylinder has a diameter of approximately 300 millimeters and includes a spout, supported by a quadrilobe cast iron support that stands about 1 meter high overall. This is set on an area of stone paving that surrounds a roughly trapezoidal sunken well or cistern measuring about 2 meters by 1.5 meters. The cistern is replenished by spring water that flows from the adjacent churchyard wall.
