Description

This is an 18th-century outbuilding with a loft located to the north of the barns at Church Farm in Leighterton. It is constructed from random rubble limestone, featuring dressed quoins on the central block and a stone slate roof. The building includes a stable with a loft above and single-storey additions at each end.

The front of the building has a central doorway leading to the stable, which is topped with a timber lintel and a plank door. To the left, there is a small-paned casement window, and to the right, stone stairs with a projecting nosing lead up to the landing, which has a gabled loft doorway above. The single-storey addition to the right includes a cow doorway and another opening, both with stone lintels. The east end of the central block and the addition features a parapet gable, each topped with ball finials. The single-storey addition on the left has a plank door with a stone lintel. There is a 20th-century concrete block addition to the east, which is not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
