Description
Church Farmhouse is an early 19th-century detached farmhouse, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys featuring projecting caps. The main block is two storeys high, while a rear wing is single-storey with an attic. The front elevation features a six-panel door within a timber porch, and scattered window openings. There are three-light chamfered mullioned casement windows on the ground floor, and two-light casements above. To the left is an outbuilding that was raised in height in the 20th century to create an extension to the main block, with three ridge-mounted chimneys. The south end has a parapet gable finished in roughcast render, incorporating an open balcony dated 1932 with a hipped roof. The north end features a raised roof pitch line forming a parapet gable above a large garage door with a timber lintel and a relieving arch; there's a single 19th-century casement window above, also with a timber lintel. The rear elevation has been considerably altered with a variety of small-paned casements from the 19th and 20th centuries, along with various lean-to additions. The projecting rear wing, with a parapet gable end, has also received numerous 20th-century alterations. The interior was not inspected. The farmhouse forms part of a group that includes nearby barns and an outbuilding.
