Description

The stables and coach house, located to the east of Meads House in Leighterton, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of random rubble limestone and feature a stone slate roof. The building comprises two stables with a coach house at the south end, which is now used as a garage, and has a loft above.

On the west front, there are two stable doorways alternating with small casement windows, all of which have timber lintels. To the right, there is a larger casement window, and above each doorway, there is a pitching hole. The south end has a parapet gabled end with a three-centred arch leading to the coach house, which features a 20th-century garage door. There is also a 20th-century lean-to on the right that is not of special interest.

At the north end, the stables connect with a single-storey outbuilding and a former harness room, which has a simple chimney stack. The north end of the stables also features a parapet gable. This building is included for its group value with the surrounding structures.
