Description
This is a 18th-century barn located to the west of Number 8, Stone Farmhouse, in Leighterton. The structure consists of two adjoining barns connected by an archway. The exterior features random rubble limestone with ashlar dressings, brick elements, and a stone slate roof.
On the east side, the main barn has a central porch with a brick gable that includes a lunette and three pigeon holes, along with a slit vent in the barn wall to the right. To the left, a segmental archway leads to the south barn, which has a small doorway with a timber lintel.
The west side showcases a central projecting porch with a hipped roof and a timber lintel above large plank barn doors. There are lean-tos on both the right and left sides, with the right lean-to featuring a pantile roof. The barn's parapet gables are topped with ball finials. Although the interiors were not inspected, it is likely that the main barn has five bays and the south barn has three bays.
