Description
Clements Farmhouse is a detached house located in Great Rissington, built in the late 18th to early 19th century in two phases. The right-hand section features coursed squared and dressed limestone, while the left-hand section is made of limestone rubble. The building has a stone slate roof at the front and a concrete tile roof on one extension at the rear, with ashlar stacks. It has a rectangular plan and includes two later extensions at right angles to the rear right. There is also a 20th-century single-storey flat-roofed extension at the right gable end, which is not of special interest.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with a three-windowed facade. The first floor has two-light casements, with a stopped hood over the far left window, and all first-floor windows feature leaded panes. On the ground floor, there is one two-light and one three-light wooden casement, both with timber lintels, and a 20th-century canted bay window without glazing bars at the lower left. The entrance features a 19th-century door with six flush panels located off-centre to the left, topped by a flat canopy supported by moulded stone brackets. There is a double-chamfered stone surround that formerly framed a two-light stone-mullioned casement, which has since had its mullion removed, lighting the main body at the rear right. The gable-end stacks have moulded cappings and skirtings.
