Description
GREAT RISSINGTON GREAT RISSINGTON VILLAGE SP 1917-2017 9/137 The Small House GV II Detached house. Mid-late C17, extended C19 and C20. Coursed roughly squared limestone with dressed quoins. Stone slate roof. Ashlar stack now partly restored and rendered, coursed squared and dressed limestone stack (restored C20). Rectangular main body with a lean-to extension at the left gable end. C19 extension at right- angles at front. C20 entrance lean-to to the left-hand return of the latter. Main body; 2 storeys and attic. Two 2-light stone- mullioned casements to the first floor. The left-hand casement has a hollow-moulded mullion and surround and is probably original. The right-hand casement is a later insertion. Original 3-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood to the ground floor. C20 two-light stone-mullioned casements and a single light to attic in the right gable end. C19 extension; 16 storeys with a single 2-light slate hung roof dormer. C20 plank door with timber lintel flanked by two C20 stone-mullioned casements to the lean-to entrance extension. Flat coping at the gable ends of the main body. Gable-end stack to main body and to the C19 extension. Interior not inspected.
