Description
Greenfields is a detached house located in Little Rissington, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with slightly later extensions. The building features coursed squared and dressed limestone and a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. It has a rectangular plan, with a 20th-century extension at the rear that is not of special interest.
The main body of the house is three storeys tall, with a two-storey extension on the left side. The facade has three windows, including two 19th-century canted bays with sash windows on the ground floor. The second and third floors are lit by 12-pane and 9-pane sashes, respectively, all set within plain architraves. The two-windowed extension is similarly lit by 12-pane sashes.
At the center of the facade is a 19th-century fielded-panelled door with a hall-light above, featuring marginal glazing bars, all framed by a plain architrave. This door is set within a 19th-century gabled porch that has a Tudor-arched entrance and stone balusters in the side walls. Additionally, there is a bull's-eye window with leaded panes in the gable of the porch. The house has flat coped gables and gable-end and off-the-ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
