Description

BARRINGTON BARRINGTON PARK SP 2013-2113 AT NGR 2067 1393 10/27 Clairvoyée, gate and piers set within the eastern boundary wall 23.1.52 of Barrington Park GV II* Clairvoyée gate and piers. C18. Wrought iron railings and a low coursed squared and dressed limestone wall and gate. Ashlar piers. The whole feature is c18m in width. Single gate with wrought iron decoration at centre. Railing containing panels of wrought iron decoration either side of gate, giving the impression of a double width gateway. Overthrow with central oval medallion flanked by fine foliate scrollwork. Railings with panels of wrought iron decoration at intervals set on a low wall either side of gateway, each railing terminates at a square pier with a moulded capping. The right-hand pier retains its ball finial. The feature frames a vista aligned on a circular dovecote with a domed roof within Barrington Park (q.v.).
