5/67 Barn and adjoining former cartshed immediately north of Manor Farmhouse

GV II

Barn and adjoining cartshed to west. Late C18. Coursed rubble stone with flush quoins, stone slate roof. Projecting central hipped cart entry on north-east side towards road with timber lintel and double timber doors recessed at level of wall plane. Lean-to to left with slate roof and stable door with large timber lintel on left hand return. Left hand gable end of barn has long loft opening with recessed plank door and timber lintel above sliding double doors fronting brick-quoined opening with timber lintel, with small 3-light window to left. Opposed hipped entry now walled in below timber lintel with row of dove holes and continuous projecting stone perch above, with lean-to to left forming catslide and mounting block at junction of lean-to and cart entry. Cartshed to right with 2 bays opening towards house on south-east side, divided by stone pier. Small lean-to on end of shed with door towards inner angle and small arched dove/owl hole above in stone slab with stone perch. Interior of barn not accessible.
