Description
The building is a barn and an adjoining former cartshed located immediately north of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with flush quoins and features a stone slate roof.
On the north-east side facing the road, there is a projecting central hipped cart entry, which has a timber lintel and double timber doors that are recessed to align with the wall plane. To the left of this entry, there is a lean-to with a slate roof and a stable door that has a large timber lintel on its left-hand return.
The left gable end of the barn includes a long loft opening with a recessed plank door and a timber lintel above sliding double doors that front a brick-quoined opening, accompanied by a small three-light window to the left. There is an opposed hipped entry that has been walled in, featuring a timber lintel with a row of dove holes and a continuous projecting stone perch above. A lean-to to the left forms a catslide roof and includes a mounting block at the junction of the lean-to and the cart entry.
The cartshed to the right consists of two bays that open towards the house on the south-east side, divided by a stone pier. There is a small lean-to at the end of the shed with a door towards the inner angle and a small arched dove or owl hole above in a stone slab, complete with a stone perch. The interior of the barn is not accessible.
