Description

Elm Tree House is a detached house with a gable end facing the street, originally a farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century. The house is constructed of rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, and has a stone slate roof. It features stone end stacks, one to the right, a brick flue on an external stone stack to the left, and another end stack to the far left. The main part of the house is two storeys high with an attic in the gable, and it has a setback range to the left, likely previously used for agricultural purposes, with a rear lean-to addition. The main range has three windows, featuring 2, 2, and 3-light stone mullion windows with wooden casements, flush stone surrounds, and painted mullions. On the ground floor are a 3-light casement to the left and full-length glazed double doors to the right, with a central half-glazed door recessed within a flush quoin surround. The range to the left has smaller 2 and 3-light casements, some with leaded glass.
