Description
This large barn, dating from the early to mid 19th century, is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a stone slate roof with coped verges. The south-west side facing the street has a prominent gabled cart entry that projects outward, complete with a timber lintel, double timber doors, and a stone relieving arch. Lean-tos on either side create catslide roofs. To the left, there is a vertical battened door and a three-light window in the lean-to. The right gable end has a blocked pitch hole above a window and a slit vent at the apex. The barn includes two tiers of square vents and a top tier of small triangular vents, with quoin stones extending beneath the verge coping to create a stepped effect. The left gable end features three triangular vents at the top and an iron weathervane on the ridge. The rear and interior of the barn are not accessible.
