Description

Numbers 1 and 2 are a pair of terraced houses dating from the 1830s and 1840s. They are built of brick with an ashlar front facade, concealed roof, brick end and party-wall stacks with cornices, and have wrought-iron porches and area railings attached to number 1. The houses are two storeys high with basements, and have four first-floor windows to each property. The front facade features full-height pilasters, a continuous frieze, a cornice and a blocking course. The windows are 6/6 and 2/2 sashed, with plain reveals and sills. The basement openings have been renewed. The entrances are to the right, leading to a six-panel door and a 20th-century door with overlight. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to number 1 are arrowhead area railings and a gate. The porches have scroll and anthemion motifs to their uprights, and flat roofs.
