Description
Garden Cottages, located on St Edwards Walk in Charlton Kings, are two houses that were originally built around 1600. They are timber-framed and later encased in brick, with divisions and extensions added to the rear around 1800. The front facade has been rendered, and the cottages feature a stone slate roof. There is a large external stack made of brick and stone on the left side and a brick ridge stack on the right side.
The cottages are two storeys high and have three first-floor windows arranged in a 2:1 pattern. On the first floor, there are two casement windows and an 8/8 sash window, while the ground floor has four casement windows and French windows on the right. The left part of the building has an entrance on the right with a part-glazed door under a hood, and there is a similar entrance at the rear of the right part.
The interior was not inspected during the survey, and the cottages were noted to be somewhat dilapidated and unoccupied at that time.
