Description
These are a group of cottages, originally a house, dating back to the 16th century, with additions from the 19th century. The central core is timber-framed and has brick cladding at the lower level and tile hanging above. The roof is tiled, with a ridge stack on the right-hand side, a front stack on the right, double front stacks to the left of centre, and a stack at the left end. The cottages have two storeys and a regular arrangement of windows, featuring seven casement windows of various types on the first floor. These include two four-light windows on the left and right of centre. The ground floor has a casement window to the left, under a cambered head. There are half-glazed doors to the left, under a pent porch hood supported by brackets; a half-glazed door to the left of centre; a half-glazed door to the right of centre, with its own roof hood; and further half-glazed doors under pent hoods to the right-hand end wings, which are set at right angles to the rear.
Inside, the timber framework is exposed, and there are two fine, moulded service doorways. An older service building is incorporated at the rear.
