Description

Magnus Deo is an early 17th-century house with 18th-century additions at the rear. The house is timber-framed, with a brick plinth. The lower portion is white-washed brick with exposed framing on the return front to the right. Above, the upper part is tile hung with alternating bands of fishscale and diagonal patterns. It has plain tiled roofs, lower at the rear, with a ridge stack positioned slightly right of centre, and further stacks at the rear. The building is arranged around a central chimney plan. It is two storeys high, featuring two three-light leaded casement windows on each floor. The ground floor windows are set beneath cambered heads. A square panelled door is located to the left, sheltered by a gabled brick porch with a cambered head.

The interior retains visible timber framing and deep brick fireplaces, including one large fireplace for the kitchen and a smaller one in the parlour at the rear.
