Description
Cudnall Bridge is a bridge located on Cirencester Road, possibly built around 1789, with railings and a parapet added in 1826-27. It is constructed of ashlar stone, with some restorations made using brick and render, and features iron railings. The bridge has a plain segmental arch supported by shaped voussoirs and includes a decorative band. The end piers are made of ashlar and topped with pyramidal caps, although one of these has been renewed. The iron railings have arrow head designs with urn-capped standards, flanking lozenge pattern panels adorned with anthemion finials. The new Cirencester Road, which crosses the bridge, was created during the 1826-27 construction period.
