Description
The gate piers, gates, and boundary wall located to the north and west of Number 2 Langton Lodge in Charlton Kings date back to around 1806. The wall was over-restored and rebuilt between 1980 and 1990. The gate piers are made of ashlar, featuring wrought-iron gates and pinkish-brown brick walls. The piers at the west entrance have ball finials, while the piers at the stable entrance have stone capping. The wall stands approximately 1.5 meters high and returns to Cirencester Road, where it rises to about 2.5 meters and is buttressed on the east side. This structure extends nearly to Cudnall Bridge and is an important feature of the streetscape, contributing to the setting of Langton Lodge.
