Description

Milford Cottage is a house built between 1789 and 1806, possibly incorporating earlier elements, with later additions and alterations. It was designed by Thomas Billings. The front facade is made of painted brick, while the rest is painted stone, topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features three first-floor windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight set in an elliptical surround. The windows are 8/8 sashes, with flat brick arches above the ground floor windows; the central first-floor window is blind. The return gable on the right side is skewed. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, it is believed that Billings may have remodeled and refronted an earlier stone house. Thomas Billings was also known for developing The Park in Cheltenham.
