Description
Ivy Cottage is a house built in 1808, with later additions and alterations, located on Cudnall Street, Charlton Kings. It was originally constructed for Charles Higgs. The exterior is rendered in stucco and features a diamond-slate roof. Initially, the house had three windows but now has two, with a single-storey wing projecting to the left and a two-storey coach-house to the right. The central entrance is accessed via a six-panel door, fitted with a Regency brass knocker and a traceried fanlight. The windows are 6/6 sash windows throughout. The rear of the property rises to three storeys. It is believed that the house has remained virtually unaltered since its construction. The interior has not been inspected. Originally known as Cowell House, the property was rented out by Charles Cooke Higgs. It forms a group with No. 10.
