Description

This barn, located approximately 11 meters southeast of Salterns Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed slatestone rubble with cob gable ends and features a gabled roof made of corrugated iron. The barn has a timber lintel above its 19th-century double doors, which are made of planks and fitted with strap hinges. Inside, there is a central brick threshing floor. The barn has a six-bay A-frame roof, with each truss consisting of two collars that are halved and pegged over the principal rafters, along with through purlins and a notched apex. This building is included for its group value.
