Description
Brick Cottage is a small house located on Winkleigh High Street, dating from the late 18th century with a 19th-century addition. It features painted brick walls and a gable-ended slate roof, with a brick stack at each gable end, the left-hand one projecting slightly. The house has a double depth plan with a one-room wide entrance to the left and a 19th-century outshut added at the rear.
The exterior consists of two storeys with a cellar and an asymmetrical two-window front, which includes early 20th-century two-light casements with brick arches above. To the left is a 19th-century panelled and glazed door, accessed by stone steps, with a cellar entrance below to the right at lower ground floor level. There are brick stringcourses between the floors, and at the rear, there is a blocked window above the later outshut. The interior has not been inspected.
