Description
Church View is a small house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The structure features rendered cob and stone rubble walls and a slate roof that is gabled on the right and hipped on the left. There is a brick stack at the right gable end. The house has a two-room plan, with the right-hand room heated by the gable end stack, while the left-hand room appears to be unheated and includes an integral outbuilding at the left end.
The building is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with two windows. The windows are small-paned 19th-century casements set in small openings, with a five-light and a two-light window on the first floor to the right. On the ground floor, the right-hand window is a three-light casement, while the left features a two-light late 20th-century casement. Between these two windows is a gabled 20th-century brick porch that has a 19th-century plank door behind it.
The outbuilding at the left end may have originally been a stable, as indicated by the stable door at the centre and a loading hatch above it. The interior shows signs of 19th-century modernization, and no original features are visible, although they may be concealed. The roof space has not been inspected.
