Description
Priory Cottage is a small house built in the 18th century, with some additions from the 19th century. The walls are rendered, likely made of stone rubble and cob, and it has a thatched roof that is gabled at the left end and hipped at the right, where it extends over a lower addition. There are two brick stacks at the gable ends. The layout features a two-room plan, possibly with a central passage, and each room has a fireplace at the gable end. There is a single-storey outbuilding addition on the right side that may date to the late 18th century, and a rear outshut was added in the 19th century. The house has two storeys and an asymmetrical front with four windows, including a lower addition on the right. The windows are late 19th or early 20th century casements with glazing bars, featuring two lights on the first floor and in the addition, while the ground floor has three-light windows. At the centre, there is a 19th-century gabled open-fronted porch with a plank door behind it. To the left, set back, is a 19th-century outbuilding, and the 19th-century outshuts extend along the rear wall. The interior was inaccessible during the survey.
