Description
This is a barn dating from the 18th century, located immediately to the east of Lower Chichacott Cottage in Okehampton Hamlets. The barn features cob walls that rest on stone rubble footings and has a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron. It has a long rectangular shape with an off-centre threshing floor. The front of the barn is asymmetrical, with a wide cart entrance positioned to the left of the centre and a ventilation slit on either side of the entrance. There is also a wide inserted doorway in the left gable end. Inside, the barn has a 19th-century bolted roof structure.
